Nature of damage

  • These fungi produce small necrotic or chlorotic spots with a light colored halo. They can cause significant damage to the crop.

Signs

  • Lesions are about 0.5 cm in diameter when fully developed.

Geographic distribution

  • The disease is prevalent in hot, humid maize areas and can damage the crop significantly.
